Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to critically examine the quality of leaders and leadership we need in Nigeria, since Nigeria got her independence, the leadership are rulership were unable to meet the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians successfully, effectively and efficiently. This paper tends to look at the quality and caliber of leaders that is required to rule Nigeria. Recommendation such as; our leaders must think about tomorrow, our must be properly educated, experienced and knowledgeable, corrupt leaders must not be allowed to operate our systems, our must lead by examples, our leaders must not run to abroad for medical treatment,  our leaders must share the vision and mission of the country, our leaders must feel the pulse of common men, our leaders must honest and strait forward and must possessed high level of integrity, our leaders must be able to resolve conflict without bias and sentiment hatred, there must be prepared to respect the views of the common man.
