A Review on comparison of RMS pulse broadening between single-mode and multimode optical fiber in case of step index and graded index at different distances

Fiber optic systems are important telecommunication infrastructure for world-wide broadband networks. Wide bandwidth signal transmission with low delay is a key requirement in present day applications. Optical fibers in different modes such as in single- mode step index, multimode step index and multimode graded mode provide enormous & unsurpassed transmission bandwidth with negligible latency & are now transmission medium of choice for long distance & high data rate transmission in telecommunication networks. Different types of cable are used for different applications, for example long distance telecommunication, or providing a high-speed data connection between different parts of a building. This research paper focuses on rms pulse broadening in single mode fiber and multimode fiber in case of step index and graded index of fiber optic communication systems.
